OUR 3H PRINCIPLE

Like all other Adventist educational institutions around the world, Akaki Adventist Mission School is concerned with the harmonious development the intellectual, spiritual, physical and social dimensions of young people. Its main objective is to prepare young people who know and fear God in every activity they undertake. It also works to create academically, morally and ethically strong young people who face the challenges of life boldly and have a deep concern for society at large. In order to implement this whole-person development, the school focuses on the HEAD (mind), HAND (physical), and HEART (spiritual and social) which constitutes the 3H principle.

HEAD

Akaki Adventist Mission School believes and teaches that the development of the mind and the attainment of knowledge is a gift of God. So, God requires that all people grow to the fullest extent of their capacity. Thus, the school works maximize academic achievement in its pupils. It also teaches not only to excel academically but also to develop the power of creativity in order to meet the challenges of daily life.

  • HAND

The hand is created to work. We perform many manual and physical activities with our hands. Thus, hand represents the physical work. Akaki Adventist School believes and teaches that to excel academically alone does not make man complete but physical activity is another dimension that needs to be developed. Therefore, Akaki Adventist School encourages its young people to work in order to grow fully.

  • HEART

To be whole, a human needs the harmonious development of mental, physical, spiritual, and social powers. Therefore, the spiritual and social dimension of its pupils is another concern. If one is academically strong, and physically fit yet poor in spiritual and social affairs, his/her wholeness is in question. Thus, the school works to develop the spiritual and social powers of its pupils.
